Registration for Conference Participants

About the Conference

How important are modern information technologies for the preservation, study, and popularisation of cultural heritage today? What digital formats and tools are most effective for popularising cultural heritage among different audiences? How does information technology affect the tourist flow of cities? Can cultural heritage incentivise the socio-economic growth of regions? And what difficulties and challenges may arise when training specialists in the field of digitalisation of cultural heritage?

These and other questions will be discussed at the International Scientific and Practical Conference 'Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage.'

The conference is focused on current issues in the application of modern information technologies for the preservation, study, and popularisation of cultural heritage. The goal of the event is to create an interdisciplinary platform for experience exchange between researchers, practitioners, and representatives of professional communities. Participants will discuss the role of digital tools in the processes of preserving and promoting cultural heritage objects, as well as analyse the possibilities and limitations of technological solutions. A separate conference section will be devoted to the work of students and graduate students from various fields.

1. Digitalisation of cultural heritage: formats, tools, target audiences

What new trends can be observed in the digitalisation of cultural heritage? What is more important: wide availability of digital content or preserving the authenticity of a work? How can various information technologies be used to adapt digital platforms for different target audiences?

2. Cultural heritage as a driver of socio-economic development of territories

Do cultural heritage sites contribute to the development of territories? How does cultural heritage help to increase the investment attractiveness of a city or region? What contribution do new types of cultural tourism make to the development of tourism in territories? What role do digital products play in increasing investment attractiveness?

3. New challenges for education in the field of digitalisation of cultural heritage

What are the latest trends in the education of cultural heritage specialists in recent years? How does training in the 21st century differ from the previous generation? Is it possible to completely replace traditional teaching methods with methods based on digital technologies?

Application Requirements

Only applications in the following format are accepted:

  • Full paper (2,500 to 5,000 words) in Russian or English.
  • Research papers should have the following structure: Introduction, Literature Review, Methods, Results, and Discussion (the latter two can be combined in the following section), Summary/Conclusion, and a list of References.
  • The paper should contain the following information: full name of the author, degree/title/position, department, university/organisation, abstract (150–250 words), keywords (5).
  • Text format: pdf, font 12 Times New Roman, 1-line spacing, page numbers in the lower right corner

 

Presentations: 15 minutes presentation + 10 minutes discussion
