The HSE team presented the results of the master's thesis "Management of Excessive Flows of Tourists in Museums: Russian and Foreign Experience". The study was based on an analysis of the activities of the practices of world museums in overcoming the consequences of excessive tourism. A list of 80 museums was formed, in which the presence of certain practices regulating a large number of visitors was analyzed. As a result, 14 formats for overcoming overtourism were found, which were sorted as the most common, partially common and the least common. In addition, an analysis of the prevalence of formats to overcome the consequences of an excessive flow of visitors was made, depending on the type of museum.

Thus, the best and unique practices of world museums in overcoming the consequences of an excessive flow of visitors were identified.

Participation in the seventeenth round table of the State Hermitage turned out to be an invaluable experience in terms of obtaining unique knowledge and expert opinions on the topic of excessive tourism in museums.
